Stratford Registrations Births at Stratford for June, for the ;>• si quarter and for the first half of the year have been fewer than those registered in the corresponding periods of 1936 There were 18 births in June (21 last year), 57 (64) in the April-June quarter and 105 (117) for the first six months of the year. The annual figures for .1936 and 1935 were 235. Marriages, also show a decline tor both the month and the quarter compared with the 1936 periods. A total of 14 (19) took place in June, and 34 (37) during the quarter. Whereas only 14 marriages took place in the first quarter of 1936, 23 were solemnised in January, February and March of this year, so that a total of 57 weddings have taLen. place this year, compared with 51 until the endi of June last year. A record total of marriages was celebrated at Stratford last year, 100 being performed. Mortality remains light, three deaths having taken place in June (four last June), making a total of 11 for the quarter and 29 for the halfyear, compared with 13 and 29.
