ASSAULT ON WOMAN
Man Sentenced To Prison Press Association—Copyright. Dunedin, June 23. “This was a brutal and unprovoked assault by a m>an best described as a drunken waster,” said Chief-Detec-tive Young when Stanley Bathurst Worling, aged 25, pleaded guilty to assaulting Sabah Laura McKinnon. The police stated that Worling was married but separated from his wife. Recently he had been living with another woman near Portobello fend was on sustenance. He, went on a drinking about and the woman left him. He called at the house of Mr and Mrs McKinnon and began using filthy language. When the door was shut in his face he broke in and kicked Mrs McKinnon on the breast nnd abdomen, so that she vomited blood for some time after. He was violently drunk when arrested. Remarking that there was no mitisating factor, the Magistrate inflicted a sentence of two months’ imprisonment.
