The libel action brought by Haidle Selassie against the “Evening Standard” ha fc been settled in the Civil Court. The action concerned the Emperor’s alleged imprisonment and illtreatment of Ras Hailu, who stated he had been released from chains, a cripple, when Selassie left the country. Defendants stated they were satisfied that the story was untrue and apologised. They are to pay the costs of the 'action.
