ACTION FOR LIBEL
HAILE SELASSIE SUES “EVENING STANDARD” STORY Alleged 111-Treatment Of Military Chief Press Association—Copyright. (Received 11 30 am.) London, June 22. The libel action brought by Haidle Selassie against the “Evening Standard” ha fc been settled in the Civil Court. The action concerned the Emperor’s alleged imprisonment and illtreatment of Ras Hailu, who stated he had been released from chains, a cripple, when Selassie left the country. Defendants stated they were satisfied that the story was untrue and apologised. They are to pay the costs of the 'action.
