FINE BOWLING FEAT

NOTTS OUT FOR 163 Tourists Make Good Start Press Association—Copyright. Nottingham, June 19. Manful bowling by Cowie, well supported by Roberts and Dunning, enabled the New Zealanders to accomplish lan outstandingly fine performance in dismissing the hitherto unbeaten County of Nottinghamshire on an excellent wicket for 163 runt in under three hours. At the drawing of stumps New Zealand had made 101 for one wicket. The attendance was 5000. Cowie, mustering good pace through the air and off the ground, kept the batsmen constantly respectful. Roberts showed, his beet form since the match against Surrey. He regained the nip off ithe pitch and swung the ball slightly. Catches were taken off him behind the wicket® and’ in the slips. One catch way missed in the sips and a snick flew over slips’ heads.

When the main bowlers required a rest Dunning, supported by good catches, finished the innings. Moloney’s slows again broke a partnernership which appeared likely to be troublesome. The bowlers should be doubly praised, as after lunch the ball was somewhat greasy. Rain caused an hour’s interruption in the morning.

The New Zetaland batting was almost as satisfying as the bowling. Hadlee and Kerr confidently scored 74 for the first wicket in just over an hour. The former touched one into the stumps after a sound innings which included four fours and one five. Kerr batted steadily for an hour and' a half and hit four fours. Larwood bowled only one over. Voce was played confidently, likewise Butler, who has taken two “hat tricks” this season. The scores are: NOTTS.
