Fell Under Truck
Auckland, June 18. ; Falling under the wheels of a moi tor truck in Manukau Road, near the i intersection of the Domain Drive, I this morning, a young cyclist was j killed instantly. His name was: John Aislabie, aged about 18, who lived at 11, Warrington Road, Remuei*a.
John Aislabie was cycling towards the city at about 830 o'clock. He was in a long line of traffic travel-
ling in the same direction. A small car in front of him had pulled in to
the kerb, and as he was cycling plash i he struck the car, was thrown off his l balance, and fell. ‘‘l saw the youth only as he fell Upder ,my trick,” said Ch'Eung., “There was no possible chance of pulling up in time, and I felt the rear left-hand wheel jump as it passed over his body before I cculd stop jay truck." Terrible injuries were suffered by the youth. His head was crushed and lacerations to his shoulders and neck were severe. Death was instantaneous.
