TREATED WITH DERISION

the larrakia affair STORY BY DECKHAND Captain Ordered Off Japanese Ship Press Association—Copyright. Received 12.30 p.m. Darwin, June 17. A surprising new version of the arrest by the Government patrol ship, Larrakia, of the Japanese pearling luggers was given to-day by Chris Bell, a deckhand of the Larrakia, who was injured and had to be flown to Darwin. Bell declares that the Captain of the Larrakiia was ordered off the New Guinea Maru, which then started its engines and steamed off. A big fleet of pearlers treated the Larrakia with derision when she sailed amongst them at Baucaut Bay.
