PLAYERS SUSPENDED . Management Executive Meeting The management committee of the Taranaki Rugby Union met at Stratford last night. Those present were Messr-s J. McLeod (chairman), J. B. Rblfre, R. L. Masters. A. G. Whiting, F. J. Nolan, J. S. Hickey, L. H. Sampson, J. O’Sullivan, E. C. Coutts. V. J. Henderson. L. J. Furrie and W. .G. Watts (secretary). Mr W. A. Guy, chairman of the selection committee, also attended. M. Gray (Stratford third grade), who was ordered off by Mr J. Sheppard for swearing during a StratfordS.T.H.S. match, was suspended for one week, and W. Ewington (Athletic, Hawera, senior) was ordered to stand down for a fortnight for late tackling. The Wanganui-Taranaki matches will be arranged with Wanganui to take place at Wanganui on July 24 and in Taranaki on August 14. The B match will take place at New Plymouth on July 24 in conjunction with the New Plymouth High School-Te Aute match. The game between School and St Pat’s College was tentatively arranged for July 3 at Hawera in conjunction with the Ka-ponga-Hawera senior fixture.
Stratford v. Ohura. Permission was granted to the Stratford club to play an Ohura subunion fifteen at Stratford on July 3. The reclassification of C. Erickson (Stratford), junior to third grade was approved. The Inglewood club’s protest that it did not know the starting time’s of | Central Division junior matches, and | its request that the Eltham-Ingle-wood match won by Eltham 6—o, be replayed, was dismissed, it being j pointed out that starting times were I announced in the newspapers about I Tuesday each week. pj n<>H I The Inglewood club .mentioned the | case of lowep grade .((CjurtaJn-raisers played before senior games and clubs having to meet referees’ travelling ; expenses,. quoting the Inglewood and I School.
