The measure was approved at 6 a.m. by 346 votes to 247. At 5 a.m. it was announced that the Communist deputies had decided to support the Government, thus as suring M. Blum s victory. The Com munists had previously decided to abstain from voting. The powers raken by the Government will enable it to deal with the revenue shortage and possibly the stabilisation of the franc.
