Stratford Firms Prosecuted Charges of obstructing streets were preferred against two local firms In the Strafford Magistrate’s Court today by the Borough Inspector, Mr A. E. Sayers. Referring to a charge against Messrs. Newton King, Ltd., Mr Sayers said the defendant company had been previously warned for obstructing Miranda Street with tarm Implements Mr R. R. Tyrer said that only recently the Borough Council had notified its intention to prosecute and the advertisement had escaped the notice of the management. He understood that the Inspector had spoken to an employee of the firm. There were no houses nearby and the vehicles were not a source of danger. The Magistrate imposed a fine of 10- (costs 10s).

Appearing for Union Foundries Ltd., Mr S. Macalister said he was rather surprised that the prosecution had been laid as there was no risk to anyone. He understood that the Inspector's warning was three years old. The defendant company was fined 10s (costs 10s).
