The New Zealanders were possibly robbed of a victory over Middlesex by rain which set in after the luncheon adjournment, causing the abandonment of play. The match waa drawn. New Zealand’s innings finished in an hour, the wickets tumbling to the spin bowling of Robins and Sims. Middlesex were left about four hours to bat, requiring 270 runs to win. The tourists began like a winning team. Aflter Cowie had bowled one over Page brought on Dunning, who was tuccessful with his second! ball.
