HORSE AND MOTOR CAR
Rider Admitted To Hospital When the horse he was riding was struck by a car shortly nil.er five o’clock last night Edmund William Harrington, sharemilker, of Toko Road, Huinga, was thrown over the vehicle. He was later admitted' to the Stratford Public Hospital with lacerated wounds, but his condition is stated to be satisfactory. The accident occurred on Toko Road, the car, driven by Mr George Were, Toko, approaching round a curve in the darkness and striking the horse with the left mudguard. The force of the impact threw Mr Harrington clear, but lihe horse smashed' the windscreen and roof of the car, and fell back on the road. Mr Were suffered cuts and bruises but was i. ble to return home after giving assistance to Mr Harrington, who was not seriously hurt. The The front left-hand bodywork of the car was extensively damaged and me horse was to injured that it was subsequel Ily shot by Constable W. R. Rae, Stratford.
