VICAR’S RESIGNATION

Rev. Anderson Jardine London, June 14The Anglican vicar who conducted the religious ceremony at the wedding of 'the Duke and Duchess of Windsor, the Rev. Anderson Jarurne, pre ehing at h‘.s church, St. Paul’s, Darlington, Yorkshire, yesterday, announced his resignation of the benefice. He added that this aqtion had no connection wi« h recent events. Nobody, not even his wife, knew of his decision. Mr Jardine told the Daily Mail: “No pressure has been brought on me from any quarter. I have been talking of leaving my parish, as I believe a clergyman gets stale if he stays •oo long in one place. I should be pleased to take up work elsewhere.” Asked if there was any foundation in r?ports that he would become the Duke of Windsor -, chaplain, Mr Jardine replied that he had heard nothing definite.
