It is authoritatively stated that the Duke of Windsor retains the ranks of Admiral of the Fleet, Field-Marshal and Air Marshal, but has automatically lost by his abdication the special seniority in them which was his as King. His seniority now dates from January 21, 1936, when he assumed the ranks.
