MR ARMSTRONG AT GENEVA
NEW ZEALAND’S PLACE IN SOCIAL REFORM Will Lead World Again —— Press Association —Copyright. (Received 2 p.m.) Geneva, June 11. Hon. H. T. Armstrong-, Minister of Labour, speaking at the Labour Conference, sard New Zealand had once led the world in social reform, and would not rest until that pros'd position was regained. Mr Armstrong detailed the Government's reforms, aiming to remove entirely the spectres of fear and want. He added that when .the reforms; were proposed l the employers had feared ruiin, but now employers and workers were more prosperous than ever before.
Ths Minister said the Government proposed to ratify Labour conven'.tions applicable to New Zealand, which would collaborate closely with Ills Conference. He hoped New Zealand would obtain membership of the i governing body, also that a director t or representative would shortly visit 1 New Zealand.
