ST. BERNARD DOGS

A reprieve has been gran'teidl the famous dogs of the St. Bernard’s Hospice, in the Swiss Alps, whose breeding it was decided to discontinue because ten of them worried a girl to death. An offer has been accepted of Miss E. A. Lind-af-Hage-by, a naturalised British subject, and forme-fly of Sweden, of £7OO to save them from destruction. She proposes that the money be used to provide proper runs and accommodation for the dogs, saying th'ait she is sure that if hygienic kennels were provided as in England there would be no danger of a recurrence of savageness.
