The trLweekly air service agreement between the’ British and Australian Governments provides for a duration of 15 years from January 1, 1938. It is- intended by progressive night flying to attain a seven day schedule between London andi Sydney though it will commence with 'ten day journeys. Britain’s subsidies are subject to adjustment and will follow a decreasing sOale, namely £750,00.0 for the first, Second and third years, £675,. 000 for the fourth, fifth and sixth years, £525,000 for the 10th, 11th and 12th years, and £450,000 for the 13th, 14th and 15th years. Oversea participants will make subsidy contributions in each of the 15 years of a total not less than £185,000 per annum. These payments will normally be made to the British Government, though some of the contributions will pay direct to the Australian company associated with Imperial Airways. Remuneration for the carriage of mails to Imperial Airways, subject to provision for additional payments, will be £900,000 per annum, representing the United Kingdom and other countries’ postal contributions, except insofar as other countries directly contribute to the company associated with Imperial Airways. weekly services replacing the biIt is understood the question of triweekly service to New Zealand awaits the settlement of the transTasman service.
