WOMAN KILLED
CAR CRASHES OVER BANK
Driver And Passenger Injured Press Association —Copyright. Christchurch, June 9. A woman was killed immediately and tyo men were injured, one of them seriously, in a motor car accident near Cass this afternoon. The car crashed over a bank. Those involved In the accident were: Killed, Mrs T. W, Voller, aged 68 years, of W’orces.ter Street, Christchurch. Injured: Mr Thomas William Voller, aged 69 years, fractured skull, b.r.pkep leg and fractured forearm, and Mr William Booth Lambert, aged 44 years, fractured wrisit apd head! injuries. Mr Lanibert, the' driver of the car, a commercial traveller, said he was on his way from Christchpych to Greymouth with Mr and Mrs Voller as’ passengers. In tl?e back of the car were several sample cases and. other equipment. Suddenly, when rounding a bend, the back wheels seemed t<? lock and the car swayed from side to side, becoming .o.ut of control and crashing over a bank of 15 to 20 feet in height with a small creek below. The luggage at the back forced 'the front seat on top of the occupants and they were unable to move. Mr Lambert regained consciousness soon after the crash bult was unable to move for about an hour. Then assistance came from a passing car.
