Dean Inge Pleads For Old Puritanism London, June 7. The Right Rev. W. R. Inge, Dean of St. Paul’s, who preached at Winchester Cathedral yesterday, pleaded for the return of Empire colonisation with the old Puritanism, but without its hardness an,d> narrowness. “We .are becoming a soft, pleasure. peeking, unenterprising race, using pleasure ’on amusements, that do not require mental or physical effort,” he declared.
