BEER DECLARED “BLACK”
Dismissal Of Barman Sydney, May 28. There is a beer strike at the small town of Corrimal, in New South Wales. The local hotel has been declared “black” and the residents, meanwhile, are contenit to do without their beer. The trouble arose over the dismissal of a barman, and the people declare that they are willing to stand by him until he is reinstalled. At a public meeting it war. decided also to demand that the price of “schooners” be reduced from fid to Bd. Many resi-
dents volunteered to act as pickets to ensure that the thirst of no resident overcame his loyalty and discretion.
