The political writer in the newspaper, People, says Mr Neville Chamberlain, Sir John Simon, Mr Montagu Norman and other members of the Cabinet and the Governors of the Bank of England,, will meet to.morrow with a view Ito ending the gold panic. It is expected that a statement will follow to the effect thalt the Governmen intends to keep up the price of gold, and arrangements have been made for President Roosevelt to do the same. The Government believes that the statement will restore confidence.
