KING’S BIRTHDAY

HOLIDAY FOR WORKERS Instead of on the actual date, December 14, Wednesday will be officially observed: as the King’s Birthday. It is presumed that legislation will be introduced by the Government next session to operate retrospectively. In the meantime, according to a circular issued by the Auckland Provincial Employers' Association, a holiday will be granted to all workers' engaged under awards, industrial agreements and the Factories Act which prescribe a holiday for the birthday of 'the reigning Sovereign.
