CORRESPONDENCE

(To the Editor.) I Sir, —-As one of the candidates i nominated for the Stratford Council by-election, I would suggest tlirough your that the Mayor convene a public meeting of residents to hear the views of the candidates, each of whom could be asked to speak on his attitude 'towards borough affairs — such as electric light chargee, rating, etc. —-for, say, a quarter of an hour. Residents would' thus have an opportunity of hearing prospective councillors, and of forming an opinion as •to their value in local government. Yours, etc., — H. S. SINCLAIR.
