CHILD DROWNED

Drake, Tftoki, I was drowned in a creek this morning. , The child followed her sister to the •road on the way to school and apparj ently unknown to t*e elder girl tell : off a small wooden bridge across the I j’ creek. I I Fifteen minutes later the mother : saw the child floating on the surface of the creek. Artificial respiration, I including the old Maori method ot i holding the child in smoke, failed. I The coroner, Mr G. H. Morrish, re- | corded a finding at an inquest later i that the child was accidentally drowned.
