An finding that Victor John McKav- ' anagh, aged 18 months, died in the j Wellington Hospital on June 1 from ■ septic poisoning following extensive ’ scalds received fours days earlier, ■ was returned by the coroner at the | conclusion of an inquest to-day. Evid, | etree was given by the child’s mother | that the boy knocked the contents of ; a hot water electric jug over himself. I receiving scalds on the face and body. ; The injuries later turned septic | and on medical advice the child was ' admitted to hospital where he subseI quently died. The coroner observed I,that the treatment by medical men | appeared to have been correct and as | far as admission to the public hospital was concerned that was apparently the right course to pursue.
