A deep and complex westerly depression is crossing the Dominion today, but the pressure has risen rapidly over eastern Australia. The forecast is for moderate to strong northerly winds, reaching gals force in places, but backing to southerlies before the morning. Th e weather will be squally, with heavy shower s at times, snow on the ranges and possibly hail and thunder in places. Temperatures, becoming cold. Seas, rough.
