Sir James Parr, who has taken a house at Richmond, London, will stay for six months in England. He will investigate activities of interest to New Zealand. Hon F. Jones, Postmaster-General, will leave Wellington for the Souith Inland to.nigh'f. He expects to be absent .from Wellington for about a week. Archdeacon A. J. Petrie, who has vicar of St. Stephen’s. Church, i Ashburton, for nearly nine years, has | accepted the cure of A.karoa. He will I ake up his new du'ties at the end of August. Mr R. deß Hill, of Wairoa, who has been appointed stock inspector at | Stratford, will arrive in Stratford to_ I night. Mr W. Harris, who has. held ■ th e position, leaves for Wunganui on , Friday to take up his new appoiut- : me nt. I ; Formerly associated with the Ypung i Men’s Christian Association in New Zealand, India, and Australia, and now connected with a finance orgl' nisation in San Francisco, Mr J Henry Lang arrived at Auckland yesterday by the Aorangi on a visit to the Dominion. Mrs M. O’Reilly, of Skinner Road, Stratford, accompanied by her son, Mr P. O'Reilly, and Mr W, Baker, leave early to-morrow morning for Auckland to attend the Auckland races. Mr O’Reilly has not missed this annual racing fixture for twentyfive years.
