NEGOTIATIONS WITH JAPAN

Chinese Appeal To Britain Press Association—Copyright London, May 30. Several Hong Kong and Chinese newspapers publish an identical editorial article appealing to Britain not to enter into negotiations with Japan, says the correspondent of the Times at Hong Kong. It is asserted that Anglo-Japanese rapprochement would damage Sino_ British amity, bring Britain into conflict with Russia, estrange Empire sentiment and affect Britain’s security of trade. China, the article says, will maintain her sovereignty at all costs.
