After an absence from Auckland I smee March 24, endeavouring to re- 1 pair the Auckland-Sydney cable the I steamer Recorder returned to Auckland yesterday afternoon with h=r operations nullified by continual storms. Three cyclones and four gales were experienced in mid-Tas- | man. forcing the Recorder to shelter I at Sydney for nearly a week, tempor- ! arily abandoning work on the Auck- ' land-Sydney cable.
