SEQUEL TO DIVORCE

A curious sequel to the divorce between the famous actress Yvonne Prihtemps and the equally-famous author-actor Sacha Guitry was heard in the law courts when Yvonne asked the court to decide how much she should have earned as an actress appearing in Guitry’s plays when she acted for him without salary during their marriage. The court decided that Yvonne’s demand was justified, but declared that she must bear her share of the cost of domestic life, and the value of gifts of jewellery from Guitry must also be taken into account. The court appointed three experts to investigate and report.
