PURCHASE AT TAURANGA Borough Council’s Decision Press Association —Copyright. Tauranga, May 29. Ths Tauranga Borough Council has adopted the recommendation of the Fin: nee Committee 'that the council should agree to purchase the extra l&nd- at Wharr roa recommended by the Public Works Department as being necessary to the aerodrome scheme, on condition 'that the total liability of the council does not exceed £3500, as authorised by the ratepayers. The cost of the land for the original scheme of 99 acres was and 'that of the extra land required, 200 acres approximately, based on the cost of the original purchase, will be £l6OO, making the total cost of the land £2446, and leaving a balance of £1054 of the loan 'to bs expended on improvements at the discretion of the Public Works Department. ft is recommended that the extra land required should be taken under the Public Works Act without delay if tlie council’s proposal is acceptable ;o the- Government.
