Zeppelin Not Likely Again To Be Used Press Association —Copyright. Washington, May 27. Dr. Hugo Eckener, designer of -the Zpppelin Hindenburg, told the Senate sub-committee for military affairs that, he belisved. the airship of the Zeppelin type would never again be in need in Germany as an instrument of warfare, due -to the l fact that it would be an easy target for fighting aeroplanes. He said England had abandoned her military airship programme for the same reason. Dr. Eckener denied* that by* using helium it would be ini practicable to lift Zeppelins. He requested that Germany be permitted to use it for commercial purposes.
