BOTTLE FROM LINER

Long Drift At Sea Press Association—Copyright. Whangarei, May 25. A bottle thrown, overboard from the liner Mohterey on September 19, 1936, was picked up on the Ruakaka peach, about 20 miles from WhangaI ret, this week by Mr. A. E. Vails!. It | contained a p&per issued by ths Uni- | ted States Hydrographic Department,' to assist in the verification of the circulation of ocean currents. It has been forwarded to the hydrographic office. The bottle was thrown into the sea by Captain E. R. Johanson about 160 nautical nfties from the North Cape, | in the Tasman Sea.
