The pressure of business in the Auckland Supreme Court during the present session has been so great that the civil cases before juries have had to be carried over into this week and as a result the hearing of undefended divorce petitions has been postponed from next Thursday until June 2. There is a record list of over 120 petitions to be heard. AIRCRAFT AT STRATFORD. Western Federated aeroplanes piloted by Messrs. C. Linn (Stratford) and G. Boon (Stratford) landed at the Stratford aerodrome on Satu’’d’y. Mr Linn, who flew from Hawera, had Mr J. Crockett (Stratford) as passenger, and Mr Boon from New Plymouth, had Mr R. R. Curtis (Stratford) with him. Two passenger flights were made before the machines returned to their bases. BOROUGH TREE-PLANTING. Preparations for the planting of trees in Broadway South, to commemorate the Coronation of King George VI and Queen Elizabeth, were commenced by the borough foreman, Mr R. Richards, and his staff this morning. The council has decided to plant the trees-on each side of the road from Opunake Road to Warwick Road, and at about twenty yards apart the number of trees required for the rows will be ninety.
