Miss G. Vinsen, of New Plymouth, is visiting her parents, Mr and Mrs A. V. Vinsen. Mr J. N. Whelan, orchard inspector for the Department of Agriculture is paying an pfflcial visit, to Taranaki to inspect nurseries. Archdeacon G. H. Gavin, of New Plymouth, left Wellington Saturday night for Christchurch to conduct a ■ retreat for Christchurch clergy. He • is to return to New Plymouth next I Saturday. Mr R. H. Nesbitt, formerly Austral- I ian Trade Commissioner in New Zealand and now chairman of the New ' South Wales Milk Board, returned to Wellington from Auckland on Saturday. He is to sail by the Maunganui next Saturday for Sydney. Hon. W. E. Parry, Minister of Internal Affairs, returned to Wellington from Hawke’s Bay at the week-end. Hon. A. Hamilton, Leader of the Opposition, who spent the week-end at Nelson and Blenheim, is expected to return to Wellington to-morrow. Mr M. H. Oram, of Palmerston North, has been elected deputy-chair-man of the Wanganui Education Board. GEORGE V MEMORIAL FUND. Further donations to the George V.
