STRATFORD CLUB Matches With Hawera Hawcra beat Stratford at Hawera. by seven games to two, three games being halved. Details, with Stratford names first, are:— Strachan and Neal all square with Whitehead and Armitage in the morning and lost 4 and 3 in the afternoon. Anderson and Heslop lost to McKay and Meuli 2 and 1 and 4 and 2. Wills and Rutherfurd all square with Ward and Jones and won 1 up. Sole and Irwin beat McDonald and Sagar 2 and 1 and lost 2 and 1. Young and Spedding lost to Ryan and Ekdahl 3 and 1 and all square. Pegg and Kehely lost to Hollis and Dingle 4 and 3 and 3 and 2. Eighty players took part in a stableford on Saturday. The best scores were:— S. Gibson 24—14—38 W. Dunlop 23—14 —37 H. Vernon 16—20—36 Oliver 16 —20—36 B. Cruickshank .... 18—18—36 S. McKay 31-=- 5 —36 JUNIORS WIN The Stratford junior team won easily against Hawera on its own course, conceding 1J games in the morning and winning all six in the afternoon. Conditions were ideal. L; Thompson, won 3 and 1, won 3 and 1. F. Bodie and W; Clark v. R. Goodchap and M. Lester, won 4 and 3, won 1 up. W. H. Simons and R. Kivell v. D. B. Cruickshank and J. T. Longbottom, all square, won 2 up. Totals: Stratford, 10 games; Hawera 1 game, 1 all square.
