. ST. PAUL’S SERVICE King And Queen To Attend Press Association—Copyright. London, May 1. Fifteen hundred Dominion and Colonial represetative will have special reserved seats at tne Empire thanksgiving service to be held at St. Paul’s Cathedral on Empire Day, May 24. The congregation will total 3500. Can. on Alexander, who is responsible for the arrangements, is following very closely the service for the Silver Jubilee of King George V. The King and Queen and members of the Royal family will enter the city by way of Victoria embankment. It is almost certain that the ceremony of presenting the sword to the King will not be observed at the boundary as the Lord Mayor, Sir George Broadbridge, will be waiting with the Bishop of London, Dr. Winnington Ingram, the dean and canons of St. Paul’s to receive Their Majesties at the great west door of the cathedral. The Lord Mayor will carry the famous pearl sword before the King, conducting him to his seat beneath the dome. The sword will then be placed on a cushion on a stand near the King’s seat., The address will be by the Archbishop of York, Dr. Temple, and the Blessing will be pronounced by the Archbishop of Canterbury, Dr. Lang. It is intended to make the service a combined one of thanksgiving and Empire Day commemorations. The first lesson will be read by the Prime of Canada. Mi;. Mackenzie King. The hymns will include “I vow to Thee, My Country" which made such an impression at the Silver Ju. bilee service. At the conclusion the Te Deum will be sung. When the King arrives a; th e entrance to the cathedral he will receive a loyal address, from representatives of Christ’s Hospital, the Bluecoat School.
