DRAWN GAME

MATCH WITH OXFORD STEADINESS OF UNIVERSITY ATTACK New Zealanders’ Improved Form (From the special correspondent of the United Press l Association with the team). (Received 10.30 a.m.) Oxford, May 21. The crickoi match between New Zealand and Oxford was drawn. Play was delayed for an hour today because of rain. The New Zealanders did quite well to dismiss the last six University batsmen for 114, but the steadiness of the University attack, combined with ithe liveliness of th© fielfding, compelled the tourists to be satisfied with a draw. Roberts, Dunning and Cowie all bowled accurately. Cowie took a wicket in the first over, and Dunning one with a new ball. Wallace accepted a good catch at mid-off, off Dunning. Cowie dismissed the eighth batsman with another of his breakbacks, and Moloney took the last two. Tindill opened the innings brightly, but th© others were not at their best form, even Moloney, slower than usual, taking nearly two hours <o reach 50. With five out for 95 and 100 wanted and only 80 minutes left, Donnelly agafn played a useful innings, helping to add 51. Moloney fell when trying to fore© the pace when only a quarter of an hour to go. University certainly bowled to keep down the runs, but it was disappointing that the tourists were not able to force a win, after appearing yesterday to have recovered their form. OXFORD.
