MIGRATION PLANS
SPARSELY-SETTLED EMPIRE London Conference’s Resolution (Received 12.5 p.m.) London, May 21. The conference of the British Empire Service League passed a resolution asking Empire Governments to investigate the question of the distribution of population, and referring to ‘he “dangers of a sparsely-settled Empire when other parts of the world are over-populated.” Mr Drew (New Zealand) said that people who urge the desirability of immigration must be prepared to take the goods produced by 'the migrants in preference to foreign. A sub pom mit tee consisting of representatives of New Zealand, Australia, South Africa, Canada land England was appointed to discuss -the part the Empire can play , in the British Legion’s efforts to promote international peace.
