OVERFLOWING TANK

An. overflowing- tank in a hotel building above during the night caused a considerable volume of water to do damage 'to three Hastings business premises, Redman's dental surgery, Thorpe and' Co., Ltd., a footwear shop, and Holland's fruit depot, kvhile a cake shop and two rooms in the hotel were damaged to a less extent, The tartk, which was situated in the Grand Hotel buildings, released water which percolated into the premises below, Thorp arid, Co?. shop this morning l aving an inch' of water on the floor eVer its whole length, while a similar state of affairs existed in Holland’s fruit shop, where it also entered and did damage to the contents of a specially constructed banana storenxini.
