ROAD TO AERODROME
ESK ROAD ROUTE Request To County Council A request that the county engineer, Mr J. W. Spence, make a survey and provide an estimate of the cost of forming and metalling about 70 chains of the Esk Road in order to 1 provide a return route for motor 'traffic from the Stratford; Aerodrome was made by Mr Percy Thomson, president of the .Stratford Aero Club, at to-day’s meeting of 'the Stratford’. County Council. He pointed out that at various times there would be thousands of people at the aerodrome, and it was essential that there should be a round route. The rood would also be of value as a stock route. The Borough Council, Mr Thomson continued, had spent thousands of pounds on the aerodrome, and he appealed to the county to assist. The aerodrome was going to be just as important to county settlers as to townspeople. He felt sure that the support of the Government would be forthcoming. It was resolved thpt the chairman, Mr T. R. Anderson, in conjunction with a representative of the Borough (Council, approach the Public Works I Department and. ascertain whether ■ the Department would supply an esti_ i mate in connection with the propos- ! e.d work.
