CROQUET CLUB

Presentation Of Trophies The Stratford Croquet Club held its closing function on Wednesday afternoon in the pavilion. Despite the inclement weather, there was? quite a large gathering of members. Mrs R. H. White, president, pre. sented the different trophies won during the season. The Champion A Cup was won by Mrs Bamford —she has won It two seasons, in succession —-Mrs W. Budge being runner-up. The B Cup wlas carried off by Mrs Thohmpson, Mrs Cook, being runner-up. The Budcher Cup was won by Mrs Alger, with Mrs Knight runner-up. The Progress Cup, donated by Mrs Burgess, went to Mrs Kealy, Mrs' Don White and Miss Saddler.

During the afternoon thiere were several amusing keenly contested competitions. ’“The lodal names” was won by. Mrs Knight. Mrs Burgess was Ist and 2nd in the “Treasure Hunt,” with Mrs Giatton third. Mrs Moon (acting secretary) was presented with a silver cake slicer by the president for the excellent -way she had acted as secretary since the departure of Mrs D. Butchart.

A delightful afternoon tea was served. Those present were: Mesdames R. H. White, A. Moon, Burgess, Alger, Knight, Sayers, D. White, Gatton, Dickinson, J. Weston, Cook, Vincen, Childs, Kealy, Tomkins and Miss Thompson.
