QUIET CEREMONY : NO MEMBER OF ROYAL ! FAMILY WILL. ATTEND ! Official Announcement Issued To Journalists Press Association —Copyright. Received May 19, 10.30 a.m. Monts, May 18. It is announced that no member of the Royal Family will attend the wedding of the Duke of Windsor and Mrs Wallis Warfield, on June 3. This announcement was issued to waiting journalists in the form of a typewritten note, which was unsigned. It is said that the invitations will be confined to those who have been with the Duke and, Mrs Warfield during the past month. The Mayor of Monts will perform the ceremony. Before reading and distributing the communique, Mr Herman Rogers asked for the identification of all the newspapermen present, and requested that the police remove wireless broadcasters and cameramen. The communique was headed: “Official announcement of the Duke of Windsor’s marriage.” It appears that the wedding guests will be Mr Rogers and his wife, Mr and Mrs Bedaux, the owners of the Chateau de Cande, Mrs Merriman, Mrs Warfield’s aunt, and the Baron and Baroness de Rothschild.
