BRITISH EXPORTS
£10,000,000 Increase In Year (British Official Wireless.) Rugby, May 17. An increase of nearly £10,000,000, or over 30 per cent., in the value of British exports compared with a year ago is a feature of the overseas trade returns for April. Exports of United Kingdom goods amounted to £43,027.0;(1, against £43,469,623 in March and £33,427,. 144 in April, 1936. Imports in April were valued at £82,870,898, compared with £82,691,279 in March and £66,663,627 a year ago. Re-exports last month totalled £7,274,487 in value, as against £6,716,840 in March and £5,922,051 in April, 1936. Imports for the first four months of this year were £312,001,887, an in. crease of £45,584.658 on the corresponding period cf last yeat aud of £74,136,029 on he first four nionths of 1935. Exports, at £,64.116.134. showed an increase ~f £ .»4,e 2 »?<) over 153$ and of £25,648.08G over 1935. Reexports, at £26,029,802. showed an 13crease of £4.249,416 and £7,9441,186 respectively.
