TEAM OF SKIERS

Visit To Australia Press Association—Copyright. Wellington, May 16. A team consisting of five men and four women, accompanied by Mr T. Ferrier, of Christchurch, as manager, is to represent New Zealand in an intercolonial contest in Australia next September, 'according to lan announcement made by Mr ff;. Gray, .secretary of the Ski Council, at the annual meeting of the Federated Mountain Clubs of New Zealand. The party will leave about September 2 or 3 and< will be away for about three weeks. “On account ,of the trip to Australia it was found that most of the best North Island skiers could not attend the proposed championships at Mount Cook,” said Mr Gray. “As the council considers that the New Zealand championships should be reasonably representative and a fair standard maintained, it has reluctantly decided to cancel the championships for this year but to ask clubs to apply for permission to hold North and South Island meetings.
