NEW ZEALAND INNINGS Match With Glamorgan Press Association —Copyright. Cardiff. May 15, The New Zealand ®’icketers commenced a match to-day against Glamorgan and, baiting first, were dismissed for 235 runs, Page (41), Moloney (40), Tindill (39) and Vivian (37). being top scorers. Glamorgan had lost no wickets for 25 runs at stumps. Encountering steady bowling, supported by keen fielding-, the tourists battled, with sedate deliberation, aii giving the- Impression that they were desirous of playing into form in view of lack of practice due to the wet week in London. Nevertheless, credit is due to the county bowlers for keeping the scoring rate down to 235 in five hours, this mainly being due to the accuracy of the medium-paced swing bowling of the. 42-year-pld Mercer and the bothersome off-spin-ners of the new bowling star Jones, whose record this season . includes eight for 80 against Kent, five for 60 against Lancashire, and seven for 79 against Sussex. Except Wallace and Roberts, who both fell to smart throwsin, and Lamasoii, who was an early victim to a new ball, all had lengthy if quiet innings. Kerr and Vivian were the brightest of the batsmen, the former batting half an hour and hitting four fours and the latter an hour, scoring three fours. Hadlee was in for over an hour, Maloney for over two hours, and Page and Tindill for an hour and a half each. Moloney and Vivian added 56 for the third wicket and Page land Tlndiji 7ff for the sixth.
