HIS MAJESTY’S INTEREST BIG LONDON CONFERENCE Care Of Ex-Servicemen Preas Association —Copyright. (Received 10.5 a.m.) London, May 16. A loyal ad'dress to the King, adopt, ed iat the annual conference of the British Legion at the Queen’E' Hall to-day, at which there was an attendance of 900 delegates, recalled with pride his Majesty’s service in the Royal Navy in war time and his presence at Jutland; also his Mia.jes'ty’E’ interest in the Legion. The King replied that the Queen and, himself pleasurably anticipated seeing many members of the Legion at the review and on other occasions this summer. “To anyone of my generation the care of ex.servicemen must always be a matter of deep> concern,” his Majesty stated. Sir Frederick Maurice, who presided, said: “I am assured on the highest authority that the work of the Legion, for the promotion of friendship with other countries has been one of the most effective m’eans of improving international relations.” SERVICE AT CENOTAPH Thousands Participate Press. Thousands participated in a service at the Cenotaph in Whitehall, to-day, when branches of the British Legion from all pgrts of the Empire deposited wreaths. Many women, overcome by emotion, fainted.
