SHIP ON ROCKS

One man was drowned and another died from a heart attack when the collier Minml, ot 1455 tons;, struck rocks off Cape Banks, at the entrance to Botany Bay, late last night, white groping her way through a thick fog and heavy sea. Sixteen of the crew cached the shore safely by a lifeline hurled to the ship by garrison gunners after many attempts had failed. A fireman named Bumside was drowned when he lout his grip on the line, and the cook, named Boulton, ided soon after the vessel struck ".he rocks. His body was taken ashore to-day. After 16 men vere rescued the collier, with seven persons mill aboard, broke in the middle, but early this morning another line was fired to the vessel and four men were rescued. The 'three remaining members of the crew were hauled ashore at 4 o'clock this morning by a bosun’s chair. An hour later the Minml, broken badly, was tilting alarmingly. Then her back broke completely. She is hard and fast on the rocks.
