AIRMAN’S DEATH DISPLAY OF AEROBATICS Tragedy At Australian Aerodrome Press Association —Copyright. Received May 15, 11.30 a.m. Sydney, May 15. Flying Officer Donald AshtonShorter, a Townsville pilot, was killed while giving a display of aerobatics at the Ross River Aerodrome to-day. He had reached a height of 1500 feet to perform a power nose dive. He then dived about 1000 feet, and when he tried to straighten the machine the wings collapsed.
