SERVICE FOR EMPIRE

Tour Of BBC Official London, May 10. Mr J. B. Clark, director of the Briish Broadcasting Corporation’s Empire service, left London on Friday on a seven-month Empire tour. His principal object is to discover the extent to which the Empire broadcasting service is fulfilling its purpose. “We are anxious to gain first-hand knowledge of the conditions under which overseas listeners receive our programmes, what they think of them, what improvements they would like made, and so on,” Mr Clark said. He proposes to spend a considerable time in New Zealand and Australia.
