PERSONAL.
Hon. W. E. Barnard, Speaker of the House of Representatives, left Wellington for the south by the interisland express steamer last night. Hon. P. Fraser, Acting-Prime Minister, will open the Waikato Winter Show at Hamilton this afternoon by telephone from his office at Parliament Buildings. Hon. R. Semple, Minister of Public Works, left Wellington for Blenheim on official business by aeroplane yesterday afternoon. Mr Semple, who •will inspect a proposed irrigation scheme in the Marlborough district this morning, will return to Wellington by aeroplane to-morrow. .
